Jeff Henry Guitars SD model 2025

This is a Jeff Henry SD (Slope shoulder Dread) model #087. Made of Sugar Maple from my front yard, this is truly a special guitar. The tree died of natural causes and I was given the gift of using some of the trunk to make several guitars.

The back, sides, and neck are from this tree. I was surprised to see how much figure the maple has. I paired this with a sitka spruce top for a one of a kind instrument. As with all my instruments, there is lots of sustain and note definition. This particular guitar is a bigger body and responds well all across the fretboard. It has a sweet even tone and still packs a punch in the bass notes to give the guitar a solid foundation. The tobacco burst full body finish is a nod to some of the classic guitars from the 40's and 50's.

The neck's width and string spacing lend themselves to a fast neck that feels comfortable to electric and acoustic players. Bound Ebony fretboard with curly mahogany. Fretboard is inlaid with abalone squares and diamonds. Headstock featured hand cut abalone "H" logo.
