TEAC A-4300SX Reel-to-Reel Tape Deck – Auto Reverse – Tested Motors & Preamp

Up for sale is a classic TEAC A-4300SX 4-track, 2-channel stereo reel-to-reel tape deck. Built like a tank with TEAC's renowned 3-motor transport system, 2 speeds (7.5 ips and 3.75 ips), and automatic reverse playback.

FUNCTIONAL CONDITION:

• Transport Motors: Power tested and verified working. Spindles turn smoothly in forward, reverse, fast forward, and rewind modes.

• Pinch Roller & Capstan: Solenoid engages firmly; capstan spins as intended.

• Audio / Preamp Path: Tested via mic input—both VU meters respond dynamically and backlight bulbs light up properly.

• Note: Sold without magnetic tape loaded, so full audio print/playback onto tape has not been benchmarked.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

• Overall good vintage condition with normal light wear/dust consistent with age. Brushed metal faceplate and wood cabinet trim are clean. Faceplate lettering is crisp.

SPECS & FEATURES:

• Model: TEAC A-4300SX

• Speeds: 7 1/2 ips / 3 3/4 ips

• Features: Auto Reverse, Independent Bias/EQ switches, Dual Mic/Line inputs, illuminated VU meters.

Sold as-is due to vintage audio nature. Local pickup preferred, or will be securely packed and boxed for shipping. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
