This Fender has the Serial Number L22524 and is a Pre-CBS Model made in 1964 at the Fullerton, California Fender Plant. Fender was only Two Years into this Iconic model as it was introduced into the Fender Catalog in 1962.  Of the Fender Big Four the Jaguar was the Only Fender Model born in the Sixties.  I bought it New in 1964 when I was 13 years old.  It has an offset body - distinct from the Jazzmaster’s offset shape - and features separate bridge and floating vibrato units.  The Jaguar has the most elaborate circuitry of any Fender instrument. Although it and the Jazzmaster were both dual-circuit guitars (lead and rhythm), the Jaguar’s lead circuit is more complex with three slide switches on a chrome plate on the lower horn. The first two are on-off switches for each pickup;  the third engages a capacitor that serves as a low-end filter, producing a more cutting treble tone (informally known as the “strangle” switch).  The Jaguar’s rhythm circuit consists of a single slide switch on the upper horn that delivers a more bass-heavy neck-pickup-only sound having its own adjacent volume and inset tone wheels. This Jaguar has tall, narrow, high-output single coil pickups that are surrounded by notched metal rings (“claws”) that reduce hum and concentrate the magnetic field beneath the strings, an unusual feature not found on any other Fender six string instrument.  It has a Solid Alder Body with a Bolt On Maple Neck.  It has a Rosewood Fretboard with Pearloid Inlay Dots and a Three Layer Pickguard (the dots and Pickguard are Unique to the 1964 which is also the last Pre-CBS Fender Year).  This Guitar has the Classic Three Color Sunburst Finish on the Body.  It also Features the proprietary Floating Tremelo, a Tune-O-Matic Bridge and the Fender-Matic Mute.
