For Sale: a pair of hard to find BA-11A tube microphone preamps, which feature the unique UTC transformers custom made for RCA during the 1950’s. The preamps feature hand selected 1620 pentode tubes. Over decades, those who have had a chance to use these preamps can attest they are some of the finest sounding preamps ever made.
This clean pair of amps come in absolute original condition and were purchased from an ex-RCA employee years ago and have been stored in a temperature controlled studio ever since. I own more channels of these preamps hence the reason of selling these two to someone who will be able to put them into good use. I am including a pair of female mating connectors as well as a spare set of RCA 1620 tubes as part of the sale.
You will need an experienced technician to restore them and to build you a power supply.
This is a unique opportunity to own a pair of iconic preamps that are now getting much harder to find.
As with any vintage piece of equipment, both units are sold “as is” and there are no returns. The transformers are guaranteed to be good.
