Fender Custom 1952 Telecaster Relic (2005), OHSC, COA
The Fender Custom Shop 1952 Telecaster Relic is based on the specifications of the first-generation Telecaster from the early 1950s. This guitar was crafted in 2005 at the Fender Custom Shop in Corona, California, and combines the historic construction of the original 1952 Telecaster with the Custom Shop’s artisanal craftsmanship.
The factory-applied Relic finish gives the guitar the authentic look and feel of an instrument that has been played for decades. This is a factory-applied artificial aging process—including aged hardware and a correspondingly finished coat of paint—while the construction and function meet the standards of modern Custom Shop manufacturing.
The guitar is equipped with two Telecaster single-coil pickups, the classic Telecaster wiring with master volume, master tone, and a three-way switch, as well as a vintage-style bridge with three string saddles.
Fender Custom Shop instruments from the early 2000s enjoy an excellent reputation among players and collectors, as even back then, these instruments were crafted with a high level of artisanal skill.
The previous owner replaced the tone cap with a 22nF film capacitor.
Included with the guitar are the original Fender Custom Shop case (OHSC) with key, the original Certificate of Authenticity (COA), the ashtray, and other case candies.
