Up for sale is a vintage Gretsch Broadkaster-era 14” x 12” Wood Puff marching snare that has been adapted for drum set use while retaining its unmistakable vintage Gretsch character.

This drum features the classic 3-ply Gretsch shell with maple reinforcement rings, round badge, original Gretsch lightning throw-off, original stick chopper hoops, and original lugs. The shell is solid and produces the huge, fat, articulate sound that only these deep vintage Gretsch marching snares can deliver.

Conversion

This drum began life as a marching snare. It has been converted for drum set use with a replacement butt plate to accommodate modern snare wires. The conversion functions well and allows the drum to be played as an exceptionally deep concert or kit snare.

Condition

• Shell is structurally solid with no extra holes or cracks.
• Hardware shows normal oxidation and cosmetic wear consistent with age.
• Finish has scratches, dings, and honest player wear.
• Throw-off operates smoothly though as expected with older throw offs can be a little finicky
• Heads and snare wires are used but functional.
