FEA Opti-FET in excellent working condition with some cosmetic flaws. The clear plastic top sheet that covers the control section has mostly peeled away, causing a paint smudge that was touched up in a small area. However, all of the control labels are completely intact and fully readable (see photos). Due to the condition, I'm starting this listing at $50 below what I'm seeing others selling at.
Tested with OneSpot power supply prior to listing. Power supply not included. Used only in smoke-free studio environment.
The Opti-FET was one of the first studio-grade compressors in pedal format, and still one of the best. In addition to the fantastic sound, what sets Opti-FET apart:
- Side chain access via 1/4" loop send / return
- 3-band EQ in the side chain: this affects compressor behavior, it does not alter the tone of the signal being processed. For example, reducing bass will make the compressor less sensitive to a bass heavy signal so that you get less compression say on bass guitar.
- Ratio, Attack, and Release controls in addition to Threshold and Make-Up Gain
