Slingerland Vintage 1979 Piano Black Drums w/14x5 Sound King Snare & Slingerland Tom Stand (22x14, 15x10, 16x16)

1979 custom ordered 5-ply Slingerland 3 pc drums in piano black with original Slingerland tom stand and an additional 1970's Slingerland Sound King COB snare drum. The 3pc kit also come with soft cases for bass drum, rack tom, and floor tom.

I bought these drums from the original owner who had the three piece kit custom ordered directly from the Slingerland factory in 1979. Drum sizes are 22x14 bass drum, 15x10 rack tom, and 16x16 floor tom. The bass drum does not have a tom mount drilled into the shell and has 4 bass drum spurs. The 15x10 rack tom has Slingerland tom mount and the original Slingerland tom stand to go with it (these tom stands are rare and hard to find in this good of shape). The rack tom and floor tom both have fully functional dampeners that were original to the drums.

Everything is original on the drums besides the drum heads. The shells are in great shape and the ply configuration is maple/poplar/maple/poplar/mahogany. There are a few chips in the bass drum hoops (tried to show that in pics), but other than that these drums are in extremely great condition for their age. All have the Niles era Slingerland badges.

I'm also including an early 1970's Slingerland Sound King COB snare drum to complete the set. I've had this snare for over 20 years and has been a workhorse drum for many bands I've played in over the years. I've changed the heads and snares on the snare drum, and there are a few unoriginal tension rods that were there when I bought the snare drum, and the snare strainer is Slingerland, but I'm not sure if it's period correct for early 70's Sound King snare drums, but was the strainer on the drum when I got it. The snare drum does show a little pitting, but from a few feet away looks great, and most importantly it sounds amazing!

I'm moving practice spaces and having to downsize the herd so I'm hoping to find a good home for these drums that sound great and have treated me the past few years.
