The Reverend Greg Koch Signature Gristlemaster is here presented in Transparent Chronic Blue or "Blucifer" with Roasted Maple Fretboard. This guitar has been designed from the ground up to meet Koch’s stringent requirements. Boasting Koch’s own signature Fishman Fluence Gristle-Tone pickups, Korina body, Wilkinson tail block with brass saddles, and a unique pick guard design, this guitar stands out both tonally and visually.

Reverend Greg Koch Signature in Blucifer with Roasted Maple Neck
The centrepiece of the Reverend Greg Koch Gristlemaster Signature is Koch’s own Fishman Fluence Gristle-Tone pickup system. As Koch himself puts it, “For me the dream Multi-Voice scenario is to be able to instantly summon the perfect White-Guard and Black-Guard tones with flawless articulation and no hum. And that’s exactly what Fishman has done for me in my signature set. The voices in my head are now in my guitar - well, 4 of them anyway!”
Each Fishman Fluence pickup has two distinct and useful sounds on-board. These sounds start with the revolutionary Fluence Core, the heart of Fluence tone. From this Fluence Core Fishman then create the classic timbres and tone - colours you expect from great guitar pickups - as well as some you’ve never expected.
Voice 1 – White-Guard. Open and airy, the sound of Nashville and Bakersfield, chicken pickin’, and the big strum.
Voice 2 – Black-Guard. Fat & punch, searing sustain. Undeniable Tele muscle.
The Fishman Fluence pickup system has an integral rechargeable battery, charged via an inbuilt USB charge port - no fumbling with batteries here!
Now, this groundbreaking pickup system has been fitted to a guitar designed from the ground up to exploit its full range of capabilities. Welcome to the Reverend Greg Koch Signature. It starts with the familiar Tele silhouette and, indeed, this is where the guitar’s tonal palette starts too. The oversized Korina body, however - with raised centre block - puts a level of sustain and tone on tap heretofore unexperienced by the traditional Tele player. The transparent finish is also noteworthy, applied only to the top, it allows the grain of the Korina to show through from the front aspect, while the colour is applied solidly to the back. White binding separates the two finishes.
Reverend’s outstanding fret finishing facilitates effortless bend execution, while the compound 10-14" radius fretboard allows a natural progression up the fretboard. You’ll wonder how you ever did without it. The Wilkinson tail block, with three brass saddles, is essential in providing that characteristic Tele twang - a welcome nod to the old school. Reverend’s Boneite nut provides the perfect combination of bone-like tone transfer and friction-free tuning adjustments, the latter executed via Reverend’s own locking tuning machines. Reverend’s components are top-notch, and more than skin deep. Everything about the Reverend Greg Koch Signature Gristle Master is designed to make it a solid performance instrument, worthy of Koch’s own demanding performance schedule.
