What makes this guitar especially unique is its connection to American history. Martin incorporated wood from the legendary Basking Ridge White Oak, a tree estimated to be over 600 years old that stood through the Revolutionary War era. That historic wood is featured in the guitar's appointments, including the Liberty Bell headplate inlay. The guitar features a reclaimed Sitka spruce top adorned with custom artwork by acclaimed Martin artist Robert Goetzl, creating a truly distinctive instrument that stands apart from any standard HD-28.
