About this listing
Offered for sale is my beautiful AKG C12 microphone system. This mic is pure magic on acoustic instruments, percussion and vocals - in fact - almost anything it's used for. This mic, serial # 672, was built in the mid 1950s (AKG numbers are incoherent, but I arrived at this number by consulting with others who had definite dates). It was apparently originally sold to a German broadcast company in what was East Berlin. After the wall came down it was acquired by a studio on the west side. (I have no evidence to prove any of the back story or reason to doubt it. It's what I was told and is a nice story.). As you can see, this C12 has been cared for and meticulously maintained by the original and subsequent owners. The mic comes with it's wooden box, original power supply, pattern selector, cables, adaptor, Pelican-style case, and Telefunken Elektroakoustic 910 power supply.
