SONOR Signature HLD 580 EB Heavy 14”x8” Makassar Ebony – Extremely Rare 20-Lug Version – 1990

For sale is a SONOR Signature HLD 580 EB Heavy 14”x8” in the extremely rare 20-lug configuration, produced in far smaller numbers than the standard 24-lug version.

Heavy model featuring a 12-ply (9 mm) beech shell, veneered inside and out with authentic and rare Makassar Ebony.

Manufactured in 1990, as confirmed by the original Mokke’s Drum label, fully consistent with the SONOR serial number.

The drum is in exceptional original condition and remains completely original, including the Parallel Action strainer, HELLA hoops and the original SONOR Signature 24-strand snare wires. The only non-original parts are the brand-new Remo drumheads.

For complete transparency, one of the bridge supports for the snare mechanism on the resonant-side HELLA hoop has cracked. This is a well-known issue affecting some examples of this particular design and does not affect the drum’s functionality, tuning stability, snare response or sound quality in any way.
