The Rarity: Left handed Custom Shop production is already scarce. Murphy Lab Heavy Aged is the most extreme and labour-intensive finish Gibson produces. Pelham Blue on a 1964 SG spec is one of the most visually striking combinations they've ever made. All three together, in a lefty... this simply does not come up. If you've been looking, you already know that.

Murphy Lab / Tom Murphy: The Murphy Lab series uses a specially developed lacquer that replicates the original nitrocellulose of the 1950s and 60s, complete with authentic weather-checking. Every detail, finish texture, feel, wear, is hand-applied. The Heavy Aged treatment is the top of that range. The aging is craft, not use. Frets and electronics are pristine.

1964 Specs: This model faithfully recreates the original 1964 SG Standard, including the Maestro vibrato, nylon saddles, and the Authentic '64 Medium C-Shape neck profile: a more moderate thickness than the '61 spec. Unpotted Custombucker pickups, hide glue construction, tubeless truss rod, True hardware throughout.
