2012 LPJ – A Real Player’s Guitar
This 2012 LPJ stands up to a Studio in every way. :)
Frets are in very good condition and have been freshly polished.
Upgrades
- Original EMG 81 pickup
- 1 volume control (remaining pots are dummy controls)
- Top professionally machine-polished to a high-gloss finish
- Back, neck, and sides remain satin
- Blank truss rod cover
- Gold Grover tuners
- Gold hardware
Headstock Upgrade
The original LPJ came with a large gold Gibson decal and a matte finish, which honestly looked rather cheap.
I refinished the headstock by:
- Applying filler and proper surface preparation
- Spraying a black base coat
- Applying an LP-style waterslide decal
- Adding a Gibson pearl logo
- Finishing everything with 3–4 coats of high-quality 2K clear coat
The result looks significantly more premium and fits the guitar much better.
Overall
The guitar is lightweight, highly resonant, and delivers plenty of punch and output.
