Hand-wired boutique amplifier with EL84 power stage

In the spirit of Trainwreck founder Ken Fisher, who passed away in 2006, the compact Komet 19 delivers the flexible and powerful sound signature with the characteristic touch responsiveness of its big brother. Built in the USA using point-to-point construction, this agile single-channel amp features a classic 12AX7 preamp and dual EL84 power tubes, delivering a generous 19 watts of power and laying claim to a permanent spot in the rehearsal room and on stage. Dynamic cleans right through to steamy crunch sounds from fully driven tubes are the speciality of this straightforward amplifier, whose diverse and organic tones are accessible via the guitar’s volume control.

Komet Amplification is proud to present its latest design: the Komet 19 Combo. The 19 is a touch-responsive and versatile amplifier. It is suitable for practically any guitar style, whether you use single-coil or humbucking pickups. This small amplifier covers a wide range of tones – from shimmering cleans and chime to searing high-gain lead crunch sounds, all of which can be controlled via the guitar’s volume control. Practical, lightweight and portable. Powered by a pair of cathode-biased EL 84 / 6BQ5 output tubes. The preamp is equipped with two 12AX7 tubes. Carefully assembled using only the best-sounding and most reliable components, with genuine point-to-point hand-wiring.

Volume, Saturation & Tone

As a classic single-channel amplifier, the Comet 19 utilises the fundamental parameters of traditional valve amplifiers and does not feature a compressing master volume. Saturation and Tone determine the incoming signal level and the amplifier’s mid-range tonal spectrum, whilst the Volume control sets the overall output level of the power stage. Three positions on the Bright switch are available for further adjustment of the treble. All settings on the Comet 19 are controlled using precise and durable 2-watt military-grade potentiometers.
