Gibson LG 3/4 guitar made in Kalamazoo, MI in 1957. Serial number U 1330 24 stamped on the heal block inside the guitar.
This is a curious piece of Gibson history where along with the highly desirable ES-140, Gibson was making smaller guitars. Not unlike it's parlor predecessors decades earlier, the small guitar interest seemed to suit younger players and smaller players. The LG 3/4 fits nicely into this category. It has a 12 3/4" lower bout and a 9" upper bout. The solid Spruce top is nicely appointed with three ply binding as is the Mahogany back with single ply binding. The Brazilian Rosewood small footprint bridge is original as is the pick guard and Kluson Deluxe tuners. It appears that the tuner buttons were recently replaced with white plastic buttons. I think cream or black would look better.
The frets and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard are in very good playable shape with the only real notable wear being under the B string at the first fret.
There is a 4" long top crack that has been repaired beneath the pick guard that is stable and supported below by two braces. Pick guard top cracks are common on may vintage acoustic guitars.
The neck has a C profile with a 1 9/16" nut. The string height is good being 5/32" on the bass side and 3/32" on the treble side at the 12th fret.
Included with the sale is a firm fitting brown alligator Gibson case with the original handle and working latches.
