TEISCO NB-1 VINTAGE 1960s BASS MIJ ***CLEARANCE***
Surf's Up!
Mid-late 60s Teisco all-original bass in what is undoubtedly their coolest finish.
Condition-wise...
Cosmetically, this fellow has seen a few skirmishes. But it works well, the finish and parts are original and it sounds fab.
The body is bruised, marked and stained, the back particularly. But there are no big chunks out of it and it feels better than its appearance may suggest. Sticker traces on the front.
The neck and head are both in good shape with the bindings and position markers all present, smooth and solid. Even has the often-absent Teisco badge on the head.
Hardware, pickup, bridge, controls are all original.
The tuners all function fine though a couple of the keys are loose. The chrome is pitted and tarnished. (See photos)
The sexy striped pick guard is a bit scratched. Guess it did its job. The finger pull/rest is absent. The adjustable steel bridge works fine.
The electrics are good - in fact the sweep on this tone control is almost violent.
In action...
It feels really balanced.
Technically short-medium scale but it looks and handles more like a long scale thanks to the neck size and fret spacing.
The NB-1 has that slinky vintage vibe that only these great old pickups can dish out. Especially in combination with these smooth coated, flatter-than-flat sounding vintage strings. (Nicked off another 60s bass)
We find that experimenting with strings on these vintage Teiscos often produces such a radical tone change it can sound like a different bass.
Overall
An original and genuine vintage 60s Japanese bass that has seen plenty of action but still sounds as cool as it looks.
It's also really fun to play. So if you need that authentic vintage thump vibe, look no further...

A Note On Shipping:
We want you to be fully satisfied with everything - from the item itself (naturally!) through the shipping, packaging, communication etc.
Of course there is nothing we can do about customs duty, local taxes etc at your end. But we can keep the overall price as competitive as is decently possible.
The Japan post office service (EMS) is reliable and efficient but shipping costs from Japan to Europe or the states are unavoidably expensive.
For this reason none of the shipping costs we quote reflect the actual price we have to pay. We are more than willing to take a hit on that to make things as attractive for you as possible.

Vintage Instruments & Equipment
Shipping by air plus climatic changes can affect how a guitar is set up - no matter how well it is packed. Consequently there is no guarantee that an instrument arrives with exactly the same set up as stated. After a period of acclimatisation, you may still need to make any adjustments at your own expense.
