Introduced in 2013, the Gibson Les Paul Signature T was the highlight of the "Year of Les Paul" celebrations. More than just a guitar, it serves as a tribute to the innovative mind of its creator, designed for modern musicians who perform live.
The goal was to blend the vintage DNA of the Les Paul with the demands for versatility and comfort of the contemporary scene. The starting point is the classic recipe of woods – a AA flame maple top and a mahogany body with "Weight Relief" to reduce weight without sacrificing sustain.
At the heart of the sound are the pair of '57 Classic humbuckers, true Gibson standards for their fidelity to the legendary PAF. The choice is intentional: at the neck, we find the classic '57 (Alnico II) for warmth and clarity, while the bridge features the more powerful '57 Classic Plus, designed for gritty crunch and singing leads.
The electronics are enhanced with coil splitting, activated via push-pull potentiometers, capable of expanding the already extensive tonal palette.
The neck features a slim and fast profile (60s SlimTaper).
In summary, the 2013 Les Paul Signature T was a guitar that honored the past without living in it: the warm and powerful sound of yesteryear, but with versatility and comfort designed for today's stage.
