Paul Weidhaas 1920's German Violin Golden Period

One of the best violin bow makers in Markneukirchen, in the Saxony, orner on the border of Bohemia in the Kingdom of Saxony. These area's makers were well known for their instrument and bow making but it also became known for man renowned legacy German families of Bow and Violin Making families. The Weidhaas name is one of the most acclaimed early 20th century German bow makers. Weidhass studied his craft with many European makers. He was influenced by Georg Winterling in Hamburg, Germany, oseph Vedral in Den Haag and Ma Moller in Amsterdam. Weidhass worked and apprenticed with Victor Fetique in Paris. he was a committed maker heavily influenced by Fetique. Victor Fetique thought so much of him that he continued to have bows made fro his Paris Firm even after Weidhass returned to Markneukirchen to open his own shop. Fetique even had Weidhass use his authentic brands for commissioned bows. We believe this bow is made after 1918 when Weidhass opened his own shop back in his Saxon home of Markneukirchen, This exeptional bow is of ofctagonal sectioned, pernambuco specie, with the mounts being sterling silver and ebony. The frog has a Parisian eye and end-screw is a solid silver piece. The bow has exceptional balance and playability. Truly a professional quality bow in excellent condition!
