The Ibanez Tube Screamer TS‑808, first released in 1979, is a 9 V overdrive pedal powered by the legendary MC1458P chip, found only in the very first production runs. Not only are these rare and highly sought after, but they also deliver a noticeably smoother, creamier tone compared to the later JRC4558 versions. Its simple three‑knob layout (Drive, Tone, Level) lets you dial in anything from a warm, subtle breakup to a full‑blown overdrive, and original vintage TS‑808s from the late ’70s command premium prices among collectors.
