Todd Krause is one of the Fender Custom Shop’s most experienced senior Master Builders. He began his lutherie career in 1981, and since 1991 he has been building Fender electric guitars for top level artists like Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, Roger Waters and Gene Simmons – among others – as well as incredible Masterbuilt instruments for guitar players like you or me. The Master Design 1950s Relic Stratocaster is Toddy Krause’s vision of the Ultimate 1950’s style Strat and it expertly evokes the sound, style and spirit of the Stratocaster’s first decade, while offering several modern touches for improved playability and versatility. A tastefully distressed Relic finish treatment give this guitar the vibe and feel of a true vintage instrument.

The Todd Krause Master Design 1950s Relic Stratocaster features a premium Alder body, hand selected for weight and tone. It is finished in a beautiful Moss Green Metallic nitrocellulose lacquer finish accented by gold hardware. The 1 piece Maple neck and fingerboard are constructed with a 10/56 “V” profile, modern 9.5"-radius and 21 narrow jumbo (6105) frets for comfort and playability. It also has the truss rod adjustment at the headstock for ease of adjustment- a must have feature if you plan to do your own neck adjustments. Sparkling Strat tone comes from three shielded Custom Shop Fat ’50s single-coil pickups, offered here with shielded modern wiring and five-way switching for optimal tonal versatility. These pickups deliver bright and clear cleans with the perfect amount of midrange bite.
