Tokai Vintage 1978 Japanese LS-60 'Reborn' Single Cutaway Cherry Sunburst w/ OHSC & Docs MIJ Japan

Here we have a beautiful vintage 1978 (1st year) Japanese Tokai LS-60 'Reborn' Les Paul Standard. Original 1st year 1978 Tokai 'Reborns' do not turn up much, and they are close to impossible to find fully complete in this kind of condition. It is non chambered with a two piece top, mahogany back, solid '59 profile neck carve and Indian rosewood fingerboard. Weight is 4.5kg. Beautifully balanced with a smooth forgiving action. Neck is straight, plenty of life in the frets and truss rod working fine. Being a Reborn it still has the model number '60' stamped on the last fret. The 'Reborn' was the first in the LS series built before the 'Love Rock', with the transitional ‘Reborn Old’ briefly sandwiched in between. When these original Reborns do turn up it is almost always trashed. The Japanese kids mostly wanted Gibsons at the time and therefore the Tokais and other Japanese-built clones got used and abused. This one is super clean. There is some light play-wear all over, but nothing big or harsh. No buckle wear etc. It comes with its green-lined & plated Tokai plated hardcase. It also has its original Tokai booklet from 1978, including the guitars serial etc printed on in. Great provenance for investment purpose. Don't miss this one, we don’t find them often. In our opinion the LS Reborns are the absolute best bang for buck vintage Japanese Les Pauls to get you in the same ballpark as the vintage Gibsons, and as such are a great investment, especially in this condition.
