UDO Super 8 16-Voice Polyphonic Bi-Timbral Analogue-Hybrid Performance Synthesizer

UDO's Super 8 is another variant of their beloved binaural hybrid synthesiser, housed in a 61-key package with polyphonic aftertouch for maximum expressive opportunities.
Positioned between the Super 6 and Super Gemini, the Super 8 balances the streamlined control scheme of the former with the bi-timbral capabilities of the latter. The result is a 16-voice powerhouse of a polyphonic synthesiser that's still manageable enough for immediate usage.

At the core is powerful FPGA technology, specifically harnessing their incredibly high sample rates for lively and smooth oscillators with a great reception to intense modulation. Like other great synthesisers, these digital oscillators are bolstered with analog filtering to shape and sculpt timbres as desired. But notably, UDO's special trick is in the ability to engage binaural signal paths—that is, completely stereo from oscillator through filter and VCA to output. Doing so does double up the voice usage per note, however, but the immersive panning and modulation effects across the stereo image are well worth it.

The Super 8 is inspired by some of the most beloved classic keyboard synthesisers and also features onboard chorus and delay effects. There are dedicated effects blocks per timbre layer, allowing you to dial in luscious delay trails on one while keeping the other completely dry.

Like other UDO instruments, Super 8 features an expansive modulation system to offer additional depth and dynamic elements to a patch. The Super 8 also incorporates a new polyphonic aftertouch keybed design, putting per-note expressivity at your fingertips.
