1984 Tokai Love Rock TLC60 Custom Black Beauty, '50s Spec w/ Mahogany Top, Japan

Up for sale, a 1984 Tokai Love Rock model TLC60 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Stemming from the “lawsuit era” of Japanese production, this Tokai is a faithful recreation of a 1957 Les Paul Custom, featuring an all-mahogany body (without a maple cap) loaded with the original pair of Tokai’s ‘57 PAF Vintage Mk II humbuckers.

The all-mahogany construction yields a certain fundamental warmth and midrange bark, and the instrument has plenty of natural sustain, lightweight at 9lbs 1oz. The Tokai ‘57 PAF MkII humbuckers deliver a touch-sensitive responsiveness, and rich bass register growl. The bridge pickup has bite and bounce, and the neck pickup is full-sounding while retaining excellent articulation. This TLC60 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
