Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting..

A very cool Kay made Truetone Archtop Guitar. These guitars were made from 1962 thru 1970. No serial numbers on these. We are calling it a 1968. These Headstock logos started showing up in 1967. They were different before.

These cool guitars were made to be sold in Western Auto Stores and catalogs. Thats right. Back in the day, Western Auto stores sold guitars as well as many other non-car items. There catalogs were quite popular!

This guitar is in great shape. No cracks or breaks on the arched top or the arched back. Easy to set up with the bolt on neck. We shimmed it to improve the action. It was almost unplayable before we got it. We cleaned it up and were happy that it has all the original parts. Original tuners, bridge, tailpiece and even the pickguard. Those are always missing!

The frets are in great shape still. I don't think this guitar got much play. The truss rod works as it should and it has a zero fret. It has a 25 1/2 inch scale neck with a big wide 1 3/4 inch nut. The neck is a handful. I would call it a D shape. Not a baseball bat neck but its not a narrow C profile either. Feels great in the hand. I learned on a vintage Kay back in 1962. This guitar feels familiar.

The guitar sounds great and now it also plays great with a new set of light gauge strings. Our Jeff the Tech set it up with easy playing low action. It plays great ...No sore fingers with this guitar!

Comes with the shown newer Soft Shell Case. Fits the guitar properly and looks vintage correct.

This guitar is cool but used and vintage. Sold as is no returns. Thanks for respecting that!
