Up for sale, a 2000 ESP Forest-GT in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A uniquely contoured axe with a sculpted, bony appearance, this rare ESP model was made in Japan and is very uncommon outside its country of origin. Tonewoods include a carved ash top, alder body wings, and seven-ply maple and walnut neck through construction, finished in a dark transparent See Thru Purple on top, and outfitted with the original pair of USA-made Seymour Duncan pickups. The through body construction ensures exceptional sustain and resonance, while the slab ebony fretboard contributes to the treble articulation and glassy note attack of the instrument.

The Seymour Duncan SHR-1n Hot Rails neck pickup uses a strong ceramic magnet and overwound coils to deliver big-sounding, well-balanced humbucker tones. Cleans are fat and warm, lending a thick, fluid feel to solos, while the dual blade construction provides the ultimate string coverage, especially for extreme note bends on the highest frets. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan TB-4 "JB", Duncan's original high output humbucker. The low end is rich and powerful, the highs are crisp and detailed, and there’s an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords that translates to a singing, vocal-like quality when you play single notes or solos. Weighing 7lbs 12oz, this Forest-GT has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, accurate intonation, and fast action.

The maple and walnut seven-ply neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .890” at the 12th. The thick slab ebony fretboard features a 12" fretboard radius, offset abalone dot inlay, and clean medium jumbo fretwire. The guitar plays effortlessly in all registers up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is a full 25 1/2“, and the locking nut measures 1 11/16" in width, holding pitch against the most extreme tremolo acrobatics. The matching See Thru Purple headstock finish features the ESP logo, and the guitar is outfitted with original black Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly.

On the body, the electronics work as they should, with Master Volume and Tone knobs, and a three-way pickup selector toggle for the pair of Seymour Duncans. The black hardware includes the Floyd Rose locking tremolo, capable of deep divebombs and broad expressive gestures. The gloss See Thru Purple finish toes the line between purple and deep blue, highlighting the dynamic grain of the carved ash top. Cosmetic wear is limited to some faint finish scratches across the strum path extending to the knobs, one small nick on the lower bout on top, and just a few additional faint finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
