As you can see in the pics, this vintage 1966 Epiphone Casino is in lovely, incredible shape. This is a real-deal, Kalamazoo, MI, Gibson made guitar, from the golden era. The Casino e230-D is the epiphone counterpart to the gibson es330-d. It is in perfect playing and functional condition. The glorious and craaaaazy rare sparkling burgundy finish has aged to sweet perfection, and really shines. I have tried to photo different angles to capture the way the light interacts with the finish. The thin, soft D style neck is spectacular; a really amazing piece of wood, with that lovely, chunky, easy feel. Very fast!
The original p90 pickups are of course, outstanding! Massive, mean and growly, dense and hot. HOT. Plug in, rainbow out. The neck is arrow-straight and perfectly intonated, and the original machines hold a rock-solid tune. The action is incredibly low and fast, as if the frets are not even there, and the guitar simply plays like a dream; as an instrument of this quality and craftsmanship should. This is a truly amazing instrument, and a fantastic and rare slice of Gibson/Epiphone history.
Cosmetically, as the photos attest, this guitar is in absolutely beautiful vintage condition, and displays all of the muy authentico, honest and fabulous patina, and most distinguished and well deserved exterior play wear one would expect of a well loved well cared for and well played instrument of this age and pedigree, mostly restricted to the belt buckle area, all included at no extra charge. There are NO BREAKS, NO CRACKS, no funny business. Look at that wood! The original (ratty) hardshell case (pictured) is included!
