For some time now, the Dirty Little Secret MKIII has been helping players add vintage British amp tones to any rig. Known as a foundation overdrive, this handmade pedal from Portland, OR offers a Marshall-style preamp and tone stack using FETs in place of tubes. The new DLS Red, like many 70s Marshalls, has taken a trip to the amp doc with carefully tuned mods to increases string definition, tighten up the low-mids and extend sweet spots across the gain range. Like the original DLS, you can select 9-18V for even more headroom and re-voice the EQ and gain structure via the Super Lead/ Super Bass modes and match it all to your amp with an internal Presence control.
Like any road worn Marshall from the 70s, Catalinbread has taken their virtual Super Lead into the neighborhood amp guy, the one who always seems to tweak it just right! The Dirty Little Secret Red Mod increases drive and refines the gain stages on both Super Lead and Bass modes, while clearing up the low-mids for extra definition. The EQ section is also tweaked for a broader range while still retaining a classic Marshall voicing.
