Santoni Pare Curved Soprano Saxophone

Santoni Paré Curved Soprano Saxophone – Rare Jan Garbarek Model

I’m selling this wonderful and extremely rare Santoni Paré curved soprano saxophone, the same model famously played by Norwegian saxophonist Jan Garbarek.

I purchased this instrument a few years ago and have enjoyed playing it ever since. It has a beautiful, clear, open sound with a very distinctive character. It’s a truly special soprano, unlike most others I’ve played, and one that I’ve really enjoyed owning.

Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I now need to sell it. I’ve decided to offer it at a significantly reduced price, hoping it will find a new home with someone who will appreciate it as much as I have.

Condition:

The saxophone is in good overall condition, but I want to be completely transparent about a few things.

Living in Lisbon, close to the Atlantic Ocean, means dealing with quite a bit of humidity and salty air. As a result, some of the springs have developed surface rust, and the instrument would benefit from a general mechanical adjustment and servicing.

The good news is that the pads are in excellent condition, so I don’t believe a complete overhaul is necessary. However, I would recommend having a good technician check the springs, regulate the keywork, and give it a general tune-up to bring it back to its best playing condition.

I’m taking this into account in the asking price.

Case included:

The saxophone comes with the same custom case I received when I originally purchased it. It’s a vintage Conn trumpet case that was professionally modified to accommodate the curved soprano, with reinforced construction, new latches, and a custom-fitted interior.

It’s a fantastic case, full of vintage character, and fits the instrument beautifully.

A rare opportunity:

These Santoni Paré curved sopranos are exceptionally difficult to find, especially in this configuration. The connection with Jan Garbarek makes them particularly interesting for anyone who appreciates his distinctive sound.

I would genuinely love to keep this instrument, but sometimes priorities change.

My loss, your gain!

I’m offering it at a very attractive price considering its rarity, character, and overall condition.

The saxophone is located in Lisbon, Portugal, and can be shipped securely with tracking.
