BUILD & DESIGN

Robust all-metal construction with the classic black finish of early Austrian-made units. Standard balanced XLR output, with dual powering options through phantom power or an internal 9 V battery.

Capsule

Electret condenser capsule with a native cardioid pickup pattern. The capsule is surrounded by an acoustic assembly designed to accommodate two interchangeable adapters, each modifying its response mechanically.

PPC 1000 — Polar Pattern Converter

The PPC 1000 is a removable acoustic attachment fitted directly over the capsule.

Its internal acoustic pathways modify the capsule's directional response from cardioid to hypercardioid, increasing rejection of sound arriving from the sides and providing a more focused pickup characteristic.

PB 1000 — Presence Boost Adapter

The PB 1000 is a second removable attachment that modifies the capsule's frequency response.

It produces an approximately 5 dB presence boost between 5 and 9 kHz, improving speech intelligibility and adding definition to vocals and instruments.

Three Acoustic Configurations

The C1000 S can therefore operate in three configurations:

1. Without adapter: Standard cardioid response.
2. With PPC 1000: Hypercardioid pickup.
3. With PB 1000: Cardioid pickup with enhanced high-frequency presence.

Both adapters operate acoustically, without electronic switching or additional signal processing.

SOUND CHARACTERISTICS

The C1000 S has a crisp, articulate character with a controlled low end and present upper frequencies. The two acoustic adapters extend its flexibility, allowing a tighter pickup pattern or additional high-frequency definition without changing the microphone itself.

This early version has a direct, relatively unprocessed character, particularly useful for acoustic instruments, vocals, percussion and general-purpose recording.
