Roland Roland Super JD-990 Synthesizer Module
Up for sale, here is a Roland Super JD-990, the legendary 1993 rackmount evolution of Roland’s flagship JD-800 synthesizer and one of the most coveted digital synths of the ’90s. Far more than a simple module version, the JD-990 expanded on the JD-800 with 6MB of PCM waveform ROM (expandable to 16MB), new synthesis features including Ring Modulation, FXM and Oscillator Sync, an SR-JV80 expansion slot, compatibility with JD-800 waveform cards, eight outputs and a large backlit display.
Its factory sounds were programmed by Eric Persing and Adrian Scott, and its lush pads, shimmering textures and punchy leads have been heard on records by Vangelis, The Prodigy and Faithless, whose iconic “Insomnia” pizzicato hook came straight from a JD-990.
This unit is in excellent condition and comes with its manual and an additional sound CD, Oz Perspective by Adrian Scott and Chong Lim, a collection of patches programmed for the JD-990’s internal waveforms, a perfect match considering Adrian Scott co-created the original factory presets.
It ships out professionally packed and fully insured to Continental US and select international destinations.
