This Depression-era, flat-back, archtop, small-body acoustic guitar is absolutely a killer. It is essentially an archtop version of the iconic L-00 of the same period. Huge mahogany neck with a soft-V shape. Comes with original celluloid pick guard which has not yet cracked or melted. Solid spruce top, solid maple back and sides.
FON within the F-hole confirms a manufacture date of 1936. Truss rod works perfectly, no dead spots on the fretboard. Plenty of life in the current frets. Tuner buttons were replaced but the tuners themselves are the original Kluson 3-in-a-line tuners. Some slight divots on the fretboard in the “cowboy chord” areas that don’t affect playability. Fretboard is original brazilian rosewood. There is a top crack that was professionally repaired by Matt at 30th Street Guitars in NYC. The guitar is properly humidified and safeguarded in a $600 TKL case.
