A pedal I never thought I'd sell, but I've gone full Fractal. No longer made, very hard to find Fat boost edition in custom checkerboard. I'll miss looking at it, let alone playing it
The HBE Power Screamer is a highly versatile, boutique overdrive guitar pedal crafted by the now-defunct HomeBrew Electronics.
Overview and Core Design
• Based on the classic Tube Screamer architecture using the legendary JRC4558 IC op-amp.
• Offers a more transparent sound with enhanced low-end response and less compression than stock vintage screamers.
• Features standard Gain, Tone, and Level (Volume) controls alongside true hardwire bypass switching.
Key Features
• 3-Way Diode Selector Switch: Allows you to change the clipping characteristics and compression levels (often featuring diode types like LED, silicon, or asymmetrical settings) to shift from an open boost to fuzz-like saturation.
• Footswitchable Boost: Includes a secondary footswitch providing roughly 6dB to 10dB of extra clean or dirty boost.
• Fat Boost Option: Custom shop or later versions added a toggle to beef up the low-end kick specifically for the boost channel, making it ideal for single-coil pickups
