This example remains all original and is in amazing overall condition for a guitar now over 60 years old. It retains the character, feel and appearance you would hope to find in a genuine early-’60s J-160E.

The guitar does have a small neck repair from many years ago, but it has been carried out extremely well and is a neat, professional-looking repair. It does not detract from what is otherwise a remarkably original and honest example.

The original case did perish unfortunately some years ago …. But this guitar will come with a modern fitted Hardcase as pictured.

Perhaps the most special part of this guitar is its provenance. It comes with the original payment card from 1965, documenting its history from the time it was purchased by its one and only owner. Finding a vintage Gibson with this level of originality and documented ownership history is becoming increasingly difficult.
