Here we have an early Fender Custom Shop Showmaster built under the supervision of Mr John Suhr! The neck has been removed to verify the build date which is 8/26/2001 for the neck and seems to be 9/7/2001 for the build date as shown in the attached photos. Someone before the current owner removed the original nut and installed an LSR roller nut. It is stable and functions as it should, just not the best installation job leaving a gap below the nut.
The biggest issue with the guitar is it needs a full fret job. The current frets have been ground down completely flat almost to the fret board although the fretboard is not damaged at all. Not sure why this had been done but it was definitely not due to level/crowning from play wear. The guitar does have some minor play wear and small dings in spots but otherwise in great condition and still plays great as is! A bit of a project with this one but it will be totally worth giving it the bit of love that it needs!
