Gibson EB-3 1970-1971 Cherry Cutaway Peghead

Trader Bobs Music LLC. offers a 1970 - 1971 Gibson EB-3, short scale (30-1/2") bass. From an estate. Serial number, 635849. Gibson states, , 1970, 1971, 1972, 1974, OR 1975, what a spread. Not much help with nailing down the exact year of production. Vintage guitar states, the slotted peghead was 1969-1971, so this is a 1970, or 1971. I removed the electronics cover, for pot code inspection. What I found is in the last pictures. Most of the numbers have been covered up with solder from the factory. A partial number, (1-1158) is visible, corresponding with Gibson number 70027, (CBA-811-1158). The partial number (70) is visible, on another pot, part of (70027) ? Or 1970 production (?).

All indicators to me show 1970 or 1971 production. Beautifull cherry finished solid mahogany wood body, & set neck. Rosewood fret board. . There are a few very minor dings in the finish. On the back there is a small area of "Belt Buckle Rash". 2-3 square inches. Not rubbed or scratched thru the finish, but indented into it. Hard to photograph, I have not made any attempt to polish it out. Plays well, all electronics work as they should. There is no visible wear on the frets, or fret board. Original hard case.
