RARE ZILDJIAN 21" STACCATO RIDE – CONCEPT SHOP LIMITED RELEASE

For sale is a very rare and unusual Zildjian 21" Staccato Ride, originally released through Zildjian’s Concept Shop.

The Concept Shop was created by Zildjian as an experimental space for its R&D team, artists and cymbal makers to explore new sounds and designs outside the standard catalog. These cymbals were produced in limited releases and small batches, with experimental concepts that could potentially influence or become future production models.

The 21" Staccato Ride was developed in collaboration with legendary drummer Russ Miller and was originally offered as one of these limited Concept Shop releases.

What immediately makes this cymbal stand out is its extremely distinctive construction and appearance. It features very unusual and pronounced hammering, quite different from what you normally see on standard Zildjian production cymbals, combined with a beautiful brilliant-finish bell and contrasting surface treatments.

The design features a small bell/mini cup and lower profile, giving the stick response some of the definition and character of a flat ride while retaining considerably more versatility. A small unlathed section near the edge helps control the crash response, allowing the cymbal to open up quickly without the wash overwhelming the ride pattern.

The result is a highly distinctive ride: articulate and controlled under the stick, yet capable of opening up when crashed.
