Vintage Tama Superstar Bop kit

For sale is a vintage Tama bop kit in black lacquer. Sizes are 7.5x10, 8x12, 13x14, 14x15, 16x18 bass drum and a 3x13 side drum. There is a lot to tell about these so here we go.

The drums are all vintage Tama superstar birch shells. The bass drum is made from a NOS undrilled shell that I bought several years ago. It’s been drilled only for the holes necessary to make it into the drum you see here.

The 7.5x10 tom was cut down from a 9x10. The 8x12 tom is factory.

The floor toms were hanging toms from the Xtras series and were flipped over (which is why the badges are placed so low). I used the existing tom bracket holes for one of the leg brackets, then drilled the other two corresponding sets for the others.

The little 3x13 drum was a leftover shell I had sitting around. I installed the lugs and also the under the top head snare mechanism so it can be used as a little dry sounding side snare or timbale.

All the parts, minus the tom brackets and floor tom legs are original. Again, shells were painted black lacquer (inside and out). Edges were all recut. Overall condition is good. It does have a few dings and imperfections, but nothing that I would call major.
