About this listing
The Gibson ES-135 is popular for its mellow sound and playability. It features a traditional "Florentine cutaway" thin body equipped with two P-100 pickups. It features a hybrid design that combines the classic look of the full-hollow ES-175 with a slightly thicker version of the semi-hollow ES-335fs thin body, constructed with a laminated maple body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. Despite its relatively thin body, the semi-hollow construction with a center block delivers a solid sound and excellent resistance to feedback, making it a standout among hollow-body guitars. The pickguard is missing, and there are circular bushing marks around the top tuners on the headstock, likely from a previous tuner replacement. There are signs of repainting on the back of the neck near the headstock (likely from a previous neck break repair). There are multiple small chips in the finish on the top of the body, the headstock tip, the neck heel, and the lower body. The binding also has numerous dents and chips in the finish. The fingerboard has overall wear and scratches from playing. The back of the neck shows weather checking, impact marks, and a loss of gloss due to age. The body back has case marks and some red color transfer. Overall, this is a well-used instrument with many scratches. Since arrival, the strap pins have been replaced, and the guitar has been cleaned, fully adjusted, and the frets have been leveled.
