The Fender Jaguar is an offset-waist solid-body electric guitar with a short 24-inch scale length, a maple neck, and two single-coil pickups as standard. It features an unusual dual-circuit switching system that separates lead and rhythm operation, and a proprietary floating vibrato unit paired with a Tune-o-matic style bridge. The short scale and single-coil electronics give the Jaguar its distinctive chiming, resonant character, with sympathetic string resonance behind the bridge adding to its signature tone. Originally produced from 1962, the Jaguar has remained a fixture in alternative, surf, and indie genres ever since.
