First released in 1975, the Phonic Ferromanganese Steel model enjoyed a long production run until 1990. Ferromanganese—an alloy of manganese and iron—produces a tone slightly softer than standard steel, while the sharp bearing edge angle delivers the distinctively crisp, well-defined metal sound characteristic of the Phonic series.
While there are some signs of rust and scratches on the hoops, shell, and hardware, there are no dents or warping that would affect the sound quality. Please rest assured that the drum has been fully disassembled and serviced.
