The B&W CM1 is a two-way bookshelf loudspeaker built around a 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter and a 5-inch woven-Kevlar-cone mid/woofer, crossed over at 4kHz with a first-order slope. The tweeter uses tube-loading derived from B&W's Nautilus technology to absorb back-wave energy and reduce colouration, while the rear-facing Flowport — its dimpled surface designed to minimise turbulence and chuffing — allows the compact ported enclosure to reach down to 55Hz. Sensitivity is rated at 84dB (2.83V/1m) into a nominal 8-ohm load, making the CM1 suited to amplifiers delivering 30–100 watts. The MDF cabinet is finished in real-wood veneer, fitted with magnetically attached grilles and gold-plated binding posts that support bi-wiring. Threaded inserts allow direct mounting to B&W's FS-700 and CM stands, and foam port plugs are included for placement close to walls.
