Unlike typical Strats, this model prioritizes elite wood figure without over-the-top, garish hardware. It features a thin maple top that adds a crisp resonance. The natural scraped binding highlights the line where the maple face meets the alder body backing. 
The compound radius fretboard changes from a rounder 9.5" curve near the nut (ideal for chording) to a flatter 14" profile at the upper registers. This allows for effortless low-action string bending without "choking out". A sculpted neck heel improves fret access. 

The custom voice of the Fender Select Pickups hits a sweet spot between vintage warmth and modern clarity. HSS models often utilize a no-load tone control. This bypasses the tone circuit completely when turned to 10 for completely uncolored humbucker output.
