Always sweet - never harsh even when pushed into destructo mode. How these guys sweeten and soften the top end and also add clarity and punch to the lows is a bit of a mystery ... but they do. At low saturation settings (we use Logic's i/o utility for this) everything in the mix sounds much more pleasant and listenable - no harsh highs and the mids and lows have tightness, presence and punch. The elements in the audio just gel beautifully. You can hear the progressive clipping as we push into the diodes so I took out the bass at times so you can hear how amazing the drums sound pushed hard into these boys. Sublime. At 12db the music is clipped beyond recognition and splatters itsself all across the soundfield - super for creative or cinematic explosiveness. Me ... I love this shazzle. I've scoured the hinternet for more of these amazing vintage Ferranti diodes as we're down to the last 12 - but to no avail - I can't find any anywhere - so gettem while you can, cause you prolly won't ever see this model again. Put some real deal analog in that mix and master chain. Balanced jacks in and out. Last pic show saturation over time.
