This is my personal Dorfler and Jorka tenor saxophone with the “Senator“ stencil made in West Germany in the late 50s. Keilwerth originally subcontracted Dorfler and Jorka to make and install the keywork on Keilwerth body tubes while Dorfler and Jorka produced their own saxophones. Although not 100% identical to the Keilwerth Tone King produced during the same era, their saxophones share the same level of build quality, lush dark sound and features as 50s Keilwerths (rolled tone holes being a big one).

I purchased the horn from the reputable saxophone dealer and repair shop Twigg Musique in Montreal in 2019 after it had been professionally set up with new pads. Since then I‘ve played it occasionally, focusing more on other instruments. The pads are still in great shape, everything seals right down to low Bb and the action is smooth. The lacquer is in good shape with normal scratches and wear for a nearly 70 year old instrument. No major dents or damage.

Note that the case is included; however, it’s not in the best condition. The clasps work and it closes fine; however, the edges of the case don’t line up perfectly.

I’m looking to sell to fund an overhaul of a recently acquired alto saxophone.
