Lotus was born from the concept of creating mouthpieces that “make playing any genre of music more enjoyable and easier to express.” Owned by trumpeter Adam Rapp himself, the brand emerged through rigorous trial and testing.

The first generation represents Lotus's original products, serving as the foundation for the evolution into the current third generation.

However, the first generation possesses unique appeal, and it has a dedicated following. Its appearance differs from later models, and it weighs around 95g compared to the typical 90g, making it slightly heavier.

While the second and third generations offer a vibrant, light sound, the first generation delivers a rich, mellow tone. The LV Cup models featured here, with their deeper cups, particularly evoke the distinctive character of the flugelhorn.

"The LV Cup is similar to taking the current M cup for flugelhorns and shaping it into a V. It makes the high register easy to play and is the perfect mouthpiece for those seeking a soft, sweet sound. The only reason we discontinued this model was the need to minimize our cup options. The XLV has a truly deep cup. Yet you'll be surprised how effortlessly playable it is compared to deep cups from other manufacturers.
