Original 1970’s Neumann stereo microphone in full working condition. Fantastic sounding microphone, with the classically defined ‘Neumann sound’ that one would expect.

This is one of two SM 69 microphones I am selling. See other advert for Neumann SM 69 Serial 3998 for details.

These are being sold and priced competitively, as the studio has closed.

The microphone, case, and pre-amplifier unit are in very good condition, but showing some signs of minor cosmetic wear, commensurate with its age.

The lower half of the microphone around the logo and rear is showing some cosmetic discolouration but otherwise perfect. The leather case is in near perfect condition with a few very minor scuff marks.

Original K870 capsules (two), the same as used in U67 mics. Brilliant on pianos, orchestral, choirs, vocals, strings, guitars, anything really. These mics are known for their natural and detailed open sound, with excellent mid response, and tube like warmth.

The top capsule in these mics can be rotated to various offset positions from the bottom capsule, enabling it to be set-up in various stereo or mono patterns and configurations. It might just be the best stereo microphone ever made (according to some).

Microphone is paired with its own CU48 FET pre-amplifier (Serial: A299) providing phantom power and 9-position polar pattern selection for each capsule.

Comes complete with:

- SM 69 Microphone

- Original leather-bound padded case.

- CU48 Power supply and pattern selector unit

- Cable (approx 20ft) connecting power supply / pattern selector to the mic

- 1 x output patch lead (screw-on XLR to standard XLR)

Note:

A second output patch lead will be required to use both capsules. These can be obtained online (check out DIN KLEIN TUCHEL to XLR patch cable).

The original Neumann EA30 Shock-mount is not available. Peluso and Rycote have suitable shock mounts to hold the SM69 securely.

All original components in pre-amp.

I have taken these points into account in the asking price.
