One-of-a-Kind Alembic Kit Guitar – 40+ Year Old Koa Body, Virtually Flawless Condition

Here’s your chance to own a truly unique piece of guitar history—a one-of-a-kind instrument that started its journey over 40 years ago as part of an ultra-limited Alembic DIY kit experiment. 30 kits were made, only 3 sold and only one was ever known to have been assembled by the purchaser (a bass). For the next 30 or so years the piles of wood from the kit guitars were moved around from shop to shop. Some of the bodies were used for fixtures and prototypes, and for a while, the kit guitars were forgotten altogether. In the early 2000's, 9 of these Koa bodies were unearthed in a dusty corner and it was decided to build one in-house as a true custom Alembic guitar.

The solid Koa body, aged for over three decades before the build, has been lovingly finished with a high-gloss polyester that highlights its natural grain and near-mint condition. You’d never guess this guitar was built over 20 years ago.
