Modest Mike’s Black Russian Delight

Anyone chasing that Gilmour tone for songs from "The Wall?" This modified pedal is a real good start! is one of my favorites to buy and modify, because of its amazing sound and popularity. Usually when we get one of these they are worn, scratched, have broken nuts on the input and output jacks, missing a battery cover, etc.
But not this one!
This one is in excellent condition. Plus we did the following:
- First we did our popular Gilmour Mod. This is done by comparing the schematic of the Velvet Ram's Head Muff to the schematic of the Black Russian Muff. We then did a Velvet Rams Head conversion to make it sound more like the Velvet Rams Head Muff used by David on recordings from “The Wall.”
- We also added a mids control. More mids, less mids…this is great for helping you dial up the tone you like.
- Black Russian Big Muffs were made for battery power only, so we drilled and installed a standard 9 volt power jack.
- This pedal comes with true bypass, no tone sucking here!
- And we replaced the dull red check LED with a water-clear bright yellow/on LED. I think it matches well with the pedal’s yellow lettering…don’t you?

Excellent modification on the Ehx Russian Black muff, the extra mid boost really improves the overall tone
