8" SUBWOOFER 2 OHM 400 WATT KRK ARAMID CONE BUTYLENE MAG.DOUBLE STACK

Up for grabs is this "Frankensteined " 8 " heavy duty subwoofer... I built several of these for myself, and this is one of the extras I don't need which I kept and don't need as a back up- because I haven't been able to blow the others.

Anyhow, I got my hands on some heavier than normal KRK ARAMID cones with rubber surrounds, and I was off to the races..

I took an aluminum 8" frame, and bolted on double stacked magnetic structures off of a 12" subwoofer, so it looks really beefy for an 8" sub...

The voice coil is over 2" diameter, and has a large gage winding, which is actually two 4 ohm coils wired in parallel to get 2 ohms......And yes, the coils are in phase, and move in conjunction with each other...I don't know exactly what the X max is, but it's an over hung winding design. She can move some air for an 8"

The spider is a high compliance and excursion textile type..

A nice lip up-Repressed pulp/ large diameter deep dome pulp dust cap protects all of that...

The surround is a "rubber" material, but is actually some sort of butylene rubber/half rool high excursion type, and is GREAT for controlling cone edge resonances and ghost notes from being reflected back into the cone.. Combine the Aramid yellow pulp cone and that surround, and it's tonality is very very "dry", smooth, fast, accurate, and for a woofer, fairly detailed. You don't get the usual "mush" from 150-300hz with this one..

I'm confident enough that you'll LOVE this little savage, that I am including my 15 day " NO GAMBLE" return option from delivery date (((less customer damage))) if for ANY REASON you simply don't like it..

So, if you need a really cool little sub, for mixing into your KRK monitor system, for an auto sub, an upgrade for a home theater powered sub, or just to play around with- then here ya' go!
